    Sri Nagaraja & Sri Mahaganapathy temple Ultsava Committee is conducting “Sri Nagam – Maha Ganapathy Vela” the most enchanting and spectacular Competition festival on Palakkad District which falls on April 17th (medam 4).
     
    Sri Nagaraja Temple Vadakkencherry is the only Nagaraja Temple in Palakkad District. The Idols in the Temple are Sri Nagaraja and Sri Kari Naga. This temple is situated near Vadakkencherry village where the Tamil Brahmins came to reside 200 years ago. During the change of time this temple became under the influence of Puzhakkalidam Karanavar and the king family was staying there. That family was known as Andhara Madom. Temple authorities took-over this place and renovated the temple and done the Nagaprathishta. In the Thamboolaprashnam it is found that, doing Bhagavatha Saptaham in this temple will increase the prosperity of the whole village. So Bhagavatha Saptaham is doing every year without fail from 1981. Naga Chathurthi & Naga Sahayam Vela (Ultsavaghosham) is the main festivals of the temple.
     
    Sri Mahaganapathy temple is situated on Vinayaka Street near to Vadakkencherry town. The Idol in the Temple is Sri Mahaganapathy and the Pratishtha of Sri Naga’s is also there. Vinayaka Chathurthi, Prathistadinam & Mahaganapthy Sahayam Vela (Ultsavaghosham) is the main festivals of the temple.
