The two time Gajarajaretnam winner of Ethithanam Gajamela, Pampadi Rajan unable to attend the same this year as he created some problems in the morning after he reached Ethithanam and the doctors didn't allow him to take part in the festival.
People expect this as the start of the musth period of Rajan. As doctors were expecting his musth period after Trichur Pooram.

They are used for religious ceremonies in and around the temples, and a few elephants work at timber yards. Experts defined the necessary features (Lakshanam) for a good elephant. The sexy features of the elephants are narrated in different books like "Mathanga Leela". They even said, the girls should walk like elephant to get more attraction. ..
