Mangalamkunnu Ayyappan lifted the thidambu of Sree Subramania swami in Koottumadom temple by defeating Pampady Rajan. Mangalamkunnu Ayyappan represented Rayamangalam Vadakkumbhaagam and rayamangalam thekkumbhaagam by Pampady Rajan. Mangalamkunnu Ayyappan won the head lifting competition with Pampady Rajan before Thaipooya maholsavam held in koottumadom temple on 30th january,2010. |

Kerala has more than nine hundred elephants in captivity. Most of them are owned by temples and individuals. They are used for religious ceremonies in and around the temples, and a few elephants work at timber yards. Experts defined the necessary features (Lakshanam) for a good elephant. The sexy features of the elephants are narrated in different books like "Mathanga Leela". They even said, the girls should walk like elephant to get more attraction. ..
