Thirunakkara Pooram 2007
Description
At thirunakkara from this year, they started thirunakkara pooram. This will have two sides with 11 elephants each.
One side Thidambu was for Thechikotukavu Ramachandran adn the other side Guruvayoor Padmanabhan took.
The festival was color full with Kudamattam conducted by Thiruvambadi and Paramekavu Devaswam.

Kerala has more than nine hundred elephants in captivity. Most of them are owned by temples and individuals. They are used for religious ceremonies in and around the temples, and a few elephants work at timber yards. Experts defined the necessary features (Lakshanam) for a good elephant. The sexy features of the elephants are narrated in different books like "Mathanga Leela". They even said, the girls should walk like elephant to get more attraction. ..
