He was nearly 11 ft tall. Previously he was called Kandampullu Balanarayanan.Prior to that he was with some one at Pattambi where he was brought from Sonepur,Bihar. It was very difficult for him to get aclimatised to domestic enviorns in spite of more than 25 years of domestical life. He was involved in many incidents leading to geting shot by tranquliser guns. While handling him his mahouts inflicted several injuries on him. Add to this on 2 occassions he got electric shock from overhead cable due to his imposing height. It is believed that he carried many internal injuries. This was evident by his walk and stance. on 17th December 2007 While geting loaded into a truck he lost control and fell, somewhere near ottapalam. He died in a few hours leaving behind thousands of greiving admirers. His age was estimated to be between 55 to 60.You dont get to see such tall elephants often.

Kerala has more than nine hundred elephants in captivity. Most of them are owned by temples and individuals. They are used for religious ceremonies in and around the temples, and a few elephants work at timber yards. Experts defined the necessary features (Lakshanam) for a good elephant. The sexy features of the elephants are narrated in different books like "Mathanga Leela". They even said, the girls should walk like elephant to get more attraction. ..
